Because You Gave - Give To The Max for Project Legacy
This Give To The Max Day, Project Legacy is proud to be sharing stories of impact that were directly inspired by your giving.
While it may not seem like a single donation could make an impact, we’re here to share stories of proof that your giving matters. With the challenges we faced in 2020, it was your giving that made the difference, and for that we are grateful.
All day long on Give To The Max Day, tune in to learn about the impact of your giving, and make a donation to continue investing and impacting the lives of Project Legacy youth.
Here’s what happened #BecauseYouGave this year:
17 middle school and high school students received one on one tutoring support in our learning pods at the Empowerment Center.
5 desks were purchased for our learning pods, individual supply bins were filled with blankets, warm socks, learning supplies and snacks to help our kids focus.
One RCTC student who hadn’t received dental care in 10 years received $3,300 worth of dental care that was not covered by insurance.
One young woman was able to receive legal advice and assistance in clearing an old warrant from when she was homeless, which will help clear the way for her to pursue her driver’s license and easier to get to and from work.
GED prep courses were purchased for 3 young people to begin preparing to take their GED tests.
An old tuition bill was paid for a student who had not been able to re-enroll in college for 1.5 years. You helped remove this barrier through your giving, and now she is back in school and working towards a degree in education.
You made donations to help us fund a $980 tuition bill that was preventing a college senior from graduating from Minnesota State Mankato. You helped us pay the bill, and now she’s on her way to graduation.
Laptops and printers were purchased for 5 young people, helping students return to school or prepare for distance learning.
A young man who was laid off from his job as a carpenter during the pandemic was able to receive rental assistance until he found another job.
A 9th grade student from a family of 12 was able to play on an AAU basketball team when you helped Project Legacy pay for her registration and team uniform.
A young woman who had been working in a strip club for 9 years who had not received medical or dental care for 10 years was able to go to the dentist. Because of your donations, we were able to support her through $980 worth of costs to repair a broken tooth, root canal and more.
Your donations helped us support one young woman through rental assistance, emergency medical costs, college visits, car insurance, phone bills and groceries. Because of your constant support of Project Legacy, she will now be graduating with her BS degree and is the first woman in her family to earn a degree.
Because of you, we were able to purchase a bed for a young man who never had his own bed growing up. Now, he’ll be taking his bed to his first apartment as he goes to college.
Your giving matters.
Thank you for your consistent support of Project Legacy that made our work possible. Today, we’re trying to raise $5,000 to fund more critical services for Project Legacy youth.
