Healing Circles
Weekly group healing sessions for program participants
OVERVIEW
Healing Circles are a core offering of Project Legacy, pairing the benefits of talk therapy, support groups and verbal processing by facilitating groups with a trained youth peer mentor and adult facilitator. Healing Circles are a nonjudgmental, compassionate space for young people to process challenges and heal from trauma.
PROGRAM COMPONENTS
Healing Circles are the bedrock of Project Legacy’s programs. Healing Circles create a safe space for young people to process trauma, heal from systemic racism, and support one another through the changes being made in their lives.
Project Legacy provides supportive Healing Circles for sub-groups of the Project Legacy population, including high school-aged youth, those reentering the community after incarceration, college-aged youth and more.
Healing Circles are co-facilitated by trained volunteers, facilitators, youth and leaders of color, and peer mentors and alumni who have come up through the Project Legacy program.
