We stepped in and stood alongside of her.
Because of your support.

When we met one young woman last year, she was working five jobs to put herself through college. Her life circumstances were similar to those of many of our youth.

Facing these barriers, she continued to pursue college, but even then, her college graduation had to be delayed because she was working so many jobs to survive she couldn’t prioritize college.

That’s when she found Project Legacy.

When we stepped up and stood alongside her, together, we created a budget, paid some of her bills for a year so she could focus on her classes, have time to study, and eliminate some of the work hours she had been working.

When we made this offer, she broke down in tears.

As a result of our assistance, she was able to take more college credits and have more time to study. She went from academic probation to the Dean’s List two semesters in a row. She wasn’t ‘less than’ her peers, she was exhausted.

This fall, this same young woman begins the final semester of her undergraduate program and has started student teaching.

In December, she will graduate.

This celebration will be her accomplishment, but one that was the result of community, togetherness and friendship. Your partnership with Project Legacy enabled our partnership with this young woman, overcoming barriers, encouraging, and stepping in to help like we would step in to support our own children.

Our youth tell us all the time that there are support programs for elementary and high school kids, but once you turn 18, the support is over and you’re on your own.

“There’s nothing else like Project Legacy.”

Today, please consider a donation to Project Legacy by setting up a monthly giving plan. This creates the sustainable foundation for Project Legacy’s support programs to help more youth like this young woman.
