OVERVIEW

The Legacy Residency is a leadership development program for program coordinators, youth development specialists and alumni of Project Legacy, offering supportive housing during life’s transitions. Qualified candidates for this program will be those who are active peer leaders, alumni, or staff members currently pursuing their personal goals in the areas of education, career advancement, financial stability, mentorship or training. 

The Legacy Residency is Project Legacy’s full-circle expression of our wraparound support offered to young people, evolving from walking alongside participants in their youth, and helping them fully transition into the workforce, while helping build leaders committed to giving back to the next generation.

PROGRAM COMPONENTS

Young people identified as a fit for the Legacy Residency program will be working towards achieving their personal educational and financial goals, in addition to working with Project Legacy, serving the next generation of young people involved in Project Legacy’s programs. 

The following resources and/or benefits are available to participants of the Legacy Residency program:

  • Provide transitioning alumni, peer leaders and youth development specialists the ability to access a safe, stable and affordable home;

  • Provide housing stability and the subsequent ability to allow participants to focus on financial stability, educational advancement and career goals;

  • Provide the ability for participants to learn to care for a home including the basics of being a tenant, homeowner or renter;

  • Provide the pathway to eventual home ownership.
